The Cape Coral Fire Department, city of Cape Coral and Cape Coral Police Department honored the live lost during the Sept. 11, 2001 terror attacks on the United States on Monday. The ceremony included presentation of colors by the Cape Coral Fire and Police honor guards, a moment of silence, an invocation and remarks by Mayor John Gunter, Interim City Manager Michael Ilczyszyn, Police Chief Tony Sizemore and Fire Chief Ryan Lamb at the City Hall Council Chambers, 1015 Cultural Park Blvd. Attendees then planted 2,977 American flags, each memorializing the dead, in the City Hall lawn, affirming that 'We Will Never Forget.
